SNMP error

I have problem monitoring SNMP service on a remote computer running XP Professional. Currently, my Cacti have been running well and are able to monitor all servers running Windows 2003 Server, but when come to this newly added XP Professional computer, I have this error message 'SNMP error' when monitoring it from Cacti.

In the computer, SNMP have been installed and its settings have been configured the same as those servers that are working fine. Also, I am able to ping the computer from Cacti server, and vice-versa.

May I know whether there is any solution for this problem? Thank you.

It is likely that the computer in question either does not have snmp installed or you don't have the correct read community.

Hi The Witness, I have installed SNMP and keyed in the same community name as the previous servers that I successfully configured. That's why I am so headache

1) Firewalls on either computer that would be blocking the traffic?
2) Try using GetIF from your cacti machine and poll the server in question. Does it work?

Hi BSOD2600, I will go and check the firewall settings first. However, I may need time to figure what GETIF and polling server mean, because I am still newbie here
