Fletch,

If you are either running script server or 0.8.6f, you need to upgrade to 0.8.6f and then immediately apply the patches at http://www.cacti.net/downloads/patches/ ... re-patched

Then you need to edit your data template and re-validate the field mapping. You may need to resave each of your data sources.

Just for my understanding; this is a typo and should be poller.php instead?
0.8.6f / Settings/Poller

Maximum Concurrent Poller Processes
The number of concurrent processes to execute. Using a higher number when using cmd.php will improve performance. Performance improvements in cactid are best resolved with the threads parameter
The same is for the Poller Type drop down menu. You can choose cactid or cmd.php here.

Now why do I have to use poller.php instead of cmd.php?

Call poller.php from the crontab. This program checks the setting in the web interface and determines whether to use cmd.php or cactid to perform the polling of the devices.

At least, that's my understanding of these settings.

Issues with this same topic???
dooku:/usr/local/apache2/htdocs/cacti# php poller.php

Notice: Undefined variable: rrdtool_pipe in /usr/local/apache2/htdocs/cacti/poller.php on line 189

I see this after I comment out those lines noted earlier ///
Can someone post the poller.php file as to exactly what lines to comment out? I comment the lines out but now i get the error above,

Also not able to gen new graphs at all using cactid, wierd. I am using rrdtool 1.2.10 with the patch applied to compile, i have applied everything from cacti's patches and pre patches. Anything else i missed or need to do??

Thanks

Status?

So where are we at with this issue? Is cacti still broken? I'm have the most recent version of RRDTool and Cacti but still cannot create any new graphs/RRA files.

Anyone any closer at pin pointing this?

Please try the following lib/rrd.php. I have not tested yet, you are it.

I have verified that the following works just fine. Question is, does it work for you.

I too have had this problem just appear today. I am running 0.8.6f although using a slightly older version of rrdtool - 1.0.5. I've applied the new version of lib/rrd.php and it hasn't broken anything, but hasn't fixed anything either.

Basically, I have 330 hosts and 1607 data sources. Everything was working fine until I added the last three or four hosts. Graphing still is working just fine for the first 227 hosts, but for the last three, the graphs contain almost no data. I also noticed that it took more than 30 minutes to actually create the last rrd file from when I created the datasource via the web utility.

Hoser, go into one of those last few hosts and shoot me the "Data Source Debug" output for a few. I will then be able to fix the RRD.PHP file properly.

Still not quite sure what it was based upon. I read a post that gave me a hunch, but since it didn't get it, send me that debug.
