For monitoring the ambient temperature at Linz/Austria I have "reworked" a script that was used to fill up a SQL database.
Other METAR data is also available (wind direction and velocity, temperature, dewpoint, pressure).
VRB Direction and negativ temperature are not handled at this moment. It is used as a data input method with this script/command line:
perl <path_cacti>/scripts/metar.pl <station>
where station is LOWL for Linz Blue Danube Airport.
