Empty poller_output

Post by Dev »

Hi all,
I am using Cacti since last month. Everything seems working fine. Graphs are updating. But I don't see any data in the poller_output table.
Here is my crontab entry for cacti.

*/5 * * * * /usr/bin/php /var/www/html/cacti/poller.php > cacti.log

How can I see the data?? Does cacti store data in a table or it directly pick data from rrd. If it pick data from rrd what is the best way to extract that data.

Is there any way I can generate alarm by cacti??

Dev,
principles of operation are documented in http://cacti.net/documentation.php. But yes, data is stored in rrd. cacti will fetch it using "rrdtool fetch ..." documented in http://www.rrdtool.org.
An alarm function has been posted in http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=6508. It has been stated, that something like that will be implemented in main cacti branch.
