Graphs without text...

Post by Herman »

Now that I finally got cacti to do its lovely work there is still a minor "makeup" issue. My graphs come without text! :D

I am using the Host MIB - Available Disk Space and CPU Graph template that came with Cacti to monitor some Windows boxes. The graphs are nicely filled with data, but the text that should go with it (legend, labels...) does not appear.

I tried reducing fontsize in the settings, but it does not help. What can this be please?

A screenshot of the graph and debug is attached.

You happen to be using rrdtool 1.2.11 or 1.2.12 ? I've seen this primarily with the 1.2.12 version (still in beta) on my set up. The odd thing is that even though the graphs appear to have no text in my browser, when I save the png they end up having text!

Anyways, did you specify a font file in cacti or a system variable?

I am using underneath version, which was recommended by "The Witness" elsewhere on this Forum/site.

No, I did not make a font file or whatever extra... Should I and is this documented somewhere?

Thank you!

I suggest you use either rrdtool 1.2.11 or beta 1.2.12.

Yes, the font file should be specified in Settings | Paths (i.e. C:/WINDOWS/Fonts/arial.ttf)
