i hope someone can help me with this new version problem:

my system:

cacti 0.8.6f
thold2.1a (original post)

just for you to know; i installed thold with one error when i run thold.sql:
ERROR 1062 (23000) at line 46: Duplicate entry '18-1' for key 1
This occurs because your database already contains the threshold authorizations for the admin user. Did you happen to have thold installed before, or the SQL imported before? And then tried to import it again? That is the only way that it could occur.

just one thing doesn't work:

the value of current stays always on 0 even if the rra gives me 1.

has anybody an idea how to solve this, do i have misconfigured someting?

thank you for your answers.

I am currently working on this fix in my plugin version. It partially works for some instances, just have to find the few last locations to fix it for the rest. Seems only to affect windows servers, I haven't seen this issue on Linux yet.

i met the same problem. Current vlalue always null, but the rra gives no null, so the Currently Triggered doesn`t work.
btw:my server is redhat and i get the plugins of Thold - v0.2.3 today.

Thol Logging Problems

Post by BrettS »

Hi, Im trying to set up the thold plugin. Ive got it installed and as far as the web gui is concerned it appears to be functioning well. However I need to use logs so i can pass this info of to nagios for alerting etc. Ive noticed that the resulting log info is always "restored to nromal" no matter the state change.

as an example Ive attached a log line from a fresh built server. In this test case the thold was applied to a logged in users graph.
Aug 30 04:45:05 linux CactiTholdLog[26268]: Localhost - Logged in Users restored to normal with 6 at trigger 1 out of 1
The line represents when a thold is triggered because the limit was exceeded.
Is there anyone able to assist in this?

thanks

Is this plugin going to be integrated into the main release cycle anytime soon?

Thanks

cigamit: Thanks for the reply, it looks great so far apart from that small prob. Once the logs are working correctly integration into Nagios via passive checks should be fairly strait forward from there.

For all those interested in cacti nagios integration via this plugin. Ill post some docs on how to get this working via syslog-ng.

thanks again cigamit

Version for 8.6f

Post by fabrice »

Hi,

here is our patched version of thold for cacti 8.6f. Patch was done by hand by me, so it preserves every cacti file from 8.6f. It also includes some bug fixes.

install.sh hasn't been tested, so you might have to check this out yourselves.

HTH.

I get this message for every single one of my data sources. I've read through the entire forum and didnt find a solution. Is there a solution to this issue?

I installed the patch fabrices thold2.1b-0.8f patch, no luck.

Running: cacti 0.86f on Fedora Core 4.

Thanks for the assistance!

A non clipped error message would certainly be helpful ...

Getting blank white page

Post by cf2005 »

Hi,

after I installed thold 2.1b on my running cacti system I got the buttons and the menu items, but when I'm accessing the template page I'm getting a white page displayed.

My System is running on FC3, MySQL 4.0.20, PHP 4.3, Cacti 0.8.6f, Thold2.1b

Thanks,

It seems that there are a few Windows specific bugs, and since I only work with unix, i can't help sorry.
