no graphs...

Post by cacti@clark »

hi to cactiusers ,

I installed cacti and is working fine untill I reinstall my apache , however before reinstalling my apache I copied all my /www/htdocs/cacti folder to a backup folder....After apache installation i restored my /www/htdocs/cacti folder and was able to login to my cacti website..and my previos graphs is still there...however its not updating its graph anymore...the view web cacti logfile is dont have fresh logs...so i suspect that my cron is not running..i run the folowing to isolate the problem

[root@cacti log]# tail -f /var/log/cron | more
(/www/php/bin/php /www/htdocs/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1)
Aug 24 13:30:00 cacti CROND[5848]: (cactiuser) CMD (/www/php/bin/php /www/htdocs/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1)
Aug 24 13:35:00 cacti CROND[5970]: (cactiuser) CMD (/www/php/bin/php /www/htdocs/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1)
Aug 24 13:40:00 cacti CROND[6091]: (cactiuser) CMD (/www/php/bin/php /www/htdocs/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1)

and its running every 5 mins

those generated logfile were not seen on view cacti logfile

so what i did is running manually my poller

root@cacti log]# /www/php/bin/php /www/htdocs/cacti/poller.php

after 20mins of running manually I was able to see my cacti generating graphs in my cacti website..

my cron is running but still graph is not genrating not unless run manually

hhmm sounds weird...

I have the same situation: new install, 0.8.6f version, works ok if I run poller.php from the command line, but from cron(tab) it doesn't work.

My crontab line is as follows:

*/5 * * * * root php /data/htdocs/cacti/poller.php

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
