I'm fairly new to Cacti, but I've created a bunch of templates and such. It's been a painless experience so far.
I am having a problem with hte names of my rrd files. I realize in the web UI it doesn't much matter what the RRD files are named, but I like to keep a tight ship.
Here's my specific problem, I have two RRD files named:
websrv1_lower_38.rrd
websrv1_avg_39.rrd
I have data source in both of these called
average, upper, lower
But I'd rather the RRD files were named
websrv1_currentwebhits_virt1_38.rrd
websrv1_currentwebhits_virt2_39.rrd
Where can I define this within the templates? I'm stumped.
Thanks,
-Terry

No where that I know of.... It uses the first DS in the data source as the last part of the name. Also, the ID of the Data Source and the name are in there. I don't remember much else, because I don't play with that code that much.

Sort of a pain in the butt, but just after you add a new data source, get properties on the new data source. Then change the rrd filename cacti is going to create to something more logical.

If you guys want a different DS naming scheme, then somebody needs to place a bug report in Mantis pointing to this post.
