Graph Items: Data Source Dropdown list is empty
When I try to add Graph Items to a graph, the data source list contains "None" and nothing more. However, when editing a graph template, I am able to see all data sources. How is this link made?
Cacti 0.8.6f
Thanks for any guidance that can be given. I can give more versions/screenshots/outputs if desired.

Did you select a host when you created that graph?

I tried it both ways, but it should work even without a host. I have another Cacti server which works fine. I just don't know if it's a permission issue on a directory or something else. I uninstalled/reinstalled Cacti on the trouble machine, but the data sources listed under "Data Sources" do not appear in the drop down box when I'm creating graphs.

That's because that is associated with a graph template, you have to edit the graph template.
Sorry, didn't think about that before, thanks for the screen shot.

Thanks for the reply.
Actually, as I mentioned, I get this anywhere I try to add a data source for a graph - template or not. Here's another shot to show you what I mean. I knew that was a bad example On my other box, either one of these locations shows a list of available data sources.
In case this helps, when I reinstalled Cacti on this box, I deleted the database, moved all data files, and removed everything else associated with the old installation. I used the debian package, which I used on the properly working box, and imported the cacti.sql into a newly created database - and I'm still having the same problem. So I'm not sure what the two fresh installations would have in common to make this occur. Hopefully that information will spark something. Here's the second screenshot:

Make sure you have the patches to 0.8.6f applied.

Tony's correct. You need to read the users manual. Next time, I must learn to pay more attentions.

I've gone through the manual. I've also done two more installations on two other boxes and have verified that this particular installation is acting differently than all THREE other installations (have had one working at another location for a while). Here are two images to show the basics of what I'm doing. On the other three installations, I have data source options. To reiterate, I am not using a template, as you see below. The fact that I'm not associating with a host doesn't matter on my other installations, and I've tried it both ways without success anyway.
Thanks again for looking at this.

Do you have any data sources that don't have a host attached to them?
What are you trying to acomplish?

Well, it's just this particular machine that's having the problem. I have a script that runs to get some market data from another server on my network. I have the script running successfully with Cacti on another server but it makes more sense to have Cacti running on this particular server, so I'm looking to migrate it over. Basically, I want to create a Data Input Method for the script, add three data sources for each of the outputs, and create a chart based on them. I can manage the first two items, but once I try to add items to the graph, you see that I do not only lack the custom Data Sources, but also the default data sources which normally drop down.
