CPU usage graphing

Post by misev »

Hi,
im using cacti to graph various solaris ( with net-snmp installed ) parameters.
Only problem is in cpu graphing. If I use snmpget or snmpwalk, these tells me
real cpu usage ( ie. all values belogs to interval <0,100>). But cacti creates graph
which indicates that values are in percent bud real graphed values are
200m, 350m for example. Where is the problem?
I need to graph ucd-snmp valiable ssCpuSystem and so on. Doesnt cacti
motiror ssCpuRawSystem ?

Thanks

misev,

you are right, the default cacti templates use ...RAW... values. Therefor, the data templates are set to COUNTER values. If you are bound to monitor non-RAW values, you may develop own templates using GAUGEs. GAUGEs are displayed "as is", whereas COUNTERs are handled different.
