Im a unix newbie, i need to say. Here is the story :
I have RedHat 7.1
Installed MRTG, then RRD, then CACTI. MRTG wasnt generating images because of some error with PGN library, so i found CACTI, which is generating images, as I need, fine, but :
how to create a graph, which measures network traffic ?
I know this is silly question, but when I was playing with RRD and CACTI, i made the graphs work, but guess what : they show the same numbers all the time. So I would be happy if anyone can provide a simple step by step manual how to make this measurement work. Maybe I dont understand corectly how to colect data (what does that cmd.php do ?? do I have to rune those PL scripts every 5 minutes or is there different mechanism?)
and for sure i dont know how to get data from SNMP, but in MRTG it was working, so I assume the SNMP is working well, at least something
