Is this okay? noobish question

I have installed Cacti on a Winxp machine following 4K Darsch's instructions. It seemed to go well. I able to launch cacti, login and able to see graphs...although I am still yet to have create a working graph of some devices. Anyhow, Here is a copy and paste of when I do a php cmd.php from my cacti directory.

I can see it is trying to use some unix commands but I was wondering if this will be a problem and if so, how I could resolve it?

install cygwin and make sure <drive>\cygwin\bin in your path. You should be fine. Also install ActivePerl and ensure that also in your Path (CP-System-Env. Variable).

Thanks for the response ichoudhurry. I have activeperl installed.. but not sure what you mean by adding it to the path. I'm assuming the windows environment path.. but how would i add CP-System-Env. Variable to it?

My fault...

I meant to say

Control Panel/System/Advanced/Environment Variable and then update the PATH. (I am used to describing step-by-step from past tech-support background). I work with people with many years experience but I still tell them step-by-step how to even launch a browser...just bad habbit

simply edit the path and add the C:\cygwin\bin after ; ... since rrdtools uses cygwin1.dll also and you might run into conflict due to that. So, just put the rrdtool and cactid binary in c:\cygwin\bin also (you will kill 3 bird with one stone)...
