Cactid not stopping processes...

Post by Bas »

I am successfully running Cacti, with CMD.php set. But, I now want to use Cactid, but it doesn't stop any of its processes. So, the svchost.exe window stays open, and I have rrdtool.exe, php.exe, cmd.exe and cactid.exe, and doing nothing.

How do I solve this?

Greets,

Bas

PS: Yes, I have my task set to poller.php.

What does the scvhost window say is going on?

Try turning debugging on for a cycle and seeing what it's hanging on

It hangs on 'Waiting for 1/1 pollers'. If I leave the process running, it fills up, and fills up, and fills up...

This makes absolutely no sense. What version of Cacti? Also, what version of Cactid. You should try the beta in the Announcements Forum. Although, I think you will find that either you have an errant script of you have some other thing going on on your box.

Erm, yeah, I already wanted to try the beta, but, compiling takes too long, because of a firewall, which monitors all processes which are opened. So, if there is a pre-compiled version, I would like it.

Can you go to command prompt and type

c:\cactid.exe poller.php

leave it for 5 min or so

That is incorrect....

You should be running "php poller.php" and poller.php will call the cactid. But you have to confirm the path to cactid is correct in your cacti settings.

hmm, I thought I typed cactid.exe poller.php which gave me several

'Waiting for 1/1 pollers'

and then returned output... but now as I tried that I got an error saying that usage is cactid.exe start_host end_host (something like it).

I guess I just typed cactid.exe :P
