I've got Thold running fine on a Win2k3 box under .8.6f. You might post more details on your error and see if someone can assist...

I am having an issue with setting the high threshold. I am trying to monitor the diskspace of a file server but I here is my issue.

The file server has a 500 GB disk where all the user data is stored cacti represents this as bytes (I couldnt find where I could change the units) so the number I want to set as the high threshold is 12 digits (513799278590) but thold will only let me enter up to 2147483647.

I am about to attempt at having a look at the MYSQL database to see if thats where the limitation and after that I will check the PHP side but before I try doing this I want to know if anyone else has had this issue and hopefully overcome it.

dre2004 :
This is because of the way some columns of Thold2.1a are declared.
It you have Cacti 0.8.6c, you could use the modified Thold I posted a couple of page ago.

Or you can search this topic for the name of the 3 columns you need to change to varchar(something)

If you have a functionning Thold 2.1a install, don't change anything : you have probably already done all changes that are necessary. The "new" version is not a new version : it doesn't add any new functionality, it only resolve a couple of bugs preventing stock thold 2.1a to install properly on my system. Futhermore, I am not a maintainer of Thold ! If you want more functionality, wait for a real new release or look at cigamit topic with plugin architecture. It includes an updated Thold.

OK thanks for your information Exo7 !
If i wanted use thold 2.1.b, it's because i have some bugs actually :
on threshold page, i have this message :
Notice: Undefined offset: 0 in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\cacti\graph_thold.php on line 122

and by moment, IIS crashes when i use a long time threshold. I need to restart IIS

i have already search on the forum but all that i found made nothing.

thanks for your help

sms notification

Post by alphademon »

hi there,

how can i modify so that the sms sent via email will be in the body and not subject. currently when i receive sms frm cacti via thold, it comes out in the subject line and not the body and furthermore it is sending host[32] as in number and not the real hostname. How can i fix this?

many thanks for this great program of yours..

Thold latest ?

Post by kingaru »

All,

Can somebody create a bundle with all bug fixes (improvements) that have been made since release of 2.1a and will work with the latest (f?) revision of cacti?
Honestly I (and I think I'm not alone here) already lost track on what has been changed/updated/fixed and what is actually should be added and to which scripts in order to make things working :-? .

Thanks
Igor.

P.S. It looks like the original author does not support this nice tool anymore  . I just hope that here will be somebody who will take ownership of it and will keep it up & dated for entire community.

P.P.S Thanks a lot for developing thold!

Exo7: I have a quick question for you regarding the changes you have made to thold. I am not sure what data type the field that holds the data for the threshold is currently but, if I change it to varchar(value) when thold does its comparison isnt it using a integer comparison? If i change the data type to varchar will the comparison command need to change to a string comparison or have you already done this?

Hi
The change to varchar(100) solved the hd capacity problem for many people, but if you still encounter issues it might be something to look at.
You might also want to check the plugin architecture by Cigamit, it includes a modified version of thold with possibly a lot more bug fixes and improvements than what you can get with the patched version I posted.

current stays zero - cacti 0.8.6f

Post by rik »

hello

i hope someone can help me with this new version problem:

my system:

cacti 0.8.6f
thold2.1a (original post)

just for you to know; i installed thold with one error when i run thold.sql:
ERROR 1062 (23000) at line 46: Duplicate entry '18-1' for key 1

but however it works fine and i get e-mails as i wanted.

just one thing doesn't work:

the value of current stays always on 0 even if the rra gives me 1.

has anybody an idea how to solve this, do i have misconfigured someting?

thank you for your answers.
