Fatal error: Call to undefined function: snmpwalkoid()

I am getting the following error with Cacti. Everything appeared in order and I followed the install guide. Im sure it is something simple I must have overlooked .. It took me sometime to make it this far

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: snmpwalkoid()/var/www/html/cacti/include/snmp_functions.php on line 69

Please help.

Looks like your PHP does not have ucd-snmp support. Try to install php-snmp rpm or recompile PHP with snmp enabled.

I am new to Linux and Cacti. I am not sure if I am doing this correctly

I installed both net-snmp and ucd-snmp
I recompiled php by doing
./configure --with-snmp
make
make install


The other problem is when I goto view the default graphs for the pings and system load stats all of the graphs appear empty..

Am I close to getting this working? Ive been trying for days.

You should for sure not to install both ucd-snmp and net-snmp. Install either one of another. Also your compilation of PHP is not suficient because you forgot of some other options like mysql support.

If you are new to Linux maybe it's better to use RPM packages. For example for RedHat 7.3 you need to install only some RPM packages without any compilation: mysql-server, php, php-mysql, php-snmp and some others.
