need help

hello,
this is the second time i am sending a mail. i hope that someone will respond to it.
i want to know how mysql is connected to cacti. Is it that it gets the data from mysql database or whether it dumps the results back to the DB.

Even after i create the data inputs , and all other things given in the manual, it doesn't show me any graphs...why ?????????

i had a few .rrd files created externally. i wanted to view the graphs of it using cacti...but still the same problem...what's wrong??
is it something to do with the time settings..if so, how can i change it...

and how do one run the cron tab thing here????

now this is really a big list of doubts...please do help me out

I have the answer to first question only. I don't know in case the others - you did not provide any details.

Cacti uses mysql DB mainly for stored configuration purpose. It also puts gathered values inside but only for some helper purpose (like displaying rrd update command line in DS settings). The real data gathered by cmd.php are directly put into rrd files.
