Rolled up my sleeves...

Post by stuartl »

Rather than wait for a fix I rolled my own.

Attached are Indexed SNMP Queries & Templates for GroupWise MTA & POA and Graph and Data Templates for tracking messages through the GWIA.

The POA Templates can track both numbers of connected users and messages.

The GWIA & MTA Templates can track message throughputs.

I've only had these scripts running since yesterday afternoon so there may still be a problem or three.

I've never exported from Cacti before so let me know if these scripts don't import. The scripts will be in the next message(s).

Cacti version?

Post by stuartl »

What version are you running? The scripts were exported from .8.6e.

snmp querry files

Post by dawald »

hi stuartl,

I tried to install your templates. I could import them via cacti "Import/Export" -> "Import Templates". All of them (graph/data templates) are working fine.

What is missing are the actual snmp querry xml files, that you have to place in <cacti_dir>/resource/snmp_queries/ directory!

Could you also provide them ? Your templates are looking very useful for me, would be great to use them.

Thanks

PS: I'm also using 0.8.6e...

SNMP Queries...

Post by stuartl »

Sorry....

Attached are the files. The GWIA stats are polling from individual data templates without using a SNMP Query file. So that should work - let me know if you are still seeing problems.

I will also upload a 10 min average Graph/Data Template for the GWIA which gives you a better idea of your message traffic.

Place in your <cacti-dir>/resource/snmp_queries

Cool...

Glad to see its working for you! I don't know about the legend misalignment. I haven't found anything in the Cacti documentation that allows you to adjust those parameters.

Maybe the general questions forum can provide some answers.

Insert Hard Return

Post by disone »

It's a parameter when in
Console -> Graph Templates -> (Edit) -> Graph Template Items -> edit graph: GroupWise GWIA Messages - 10 Min.
Check the Insert Hard Return with Item 4 and Item 8.

Or in the original XML file:
[cut]

Code: Select all

<gprint_id>hash_06000819414480d6897c8731c7dc6c5310653e</gprint_id>
  <text_format>Maximum:</text_format>
  <hard_return />
[cut]

replace <hard_return /> with <hard_return>on</hard_return> and you'll get this.

Are you all running GW on Linux? If so, how did you get teh agents to report that? SNMP or script?
