SAR , RRD Graphs , Cacti
Looks like a pretty damn cool triangle to me! Why not utilize the SAR tool outputs which is running ALREADY as Standard , happily gathering system statistics on the background (at least with Redhat boxes)
Check out command : sar -A what a nice bunch of stats to collect.
has anyone got good experiences or comments please ?

All most done with this...even have a client/server prog to pull and parse the info. Will keep you all posted.

Hi Folks!
I was just curious what you had in mind, as far as a basic plan for getting this info into a database for rrdtool/cacti to use.
I was thinking about trying to come up with a way to get sar info into rrdtool/cacti, and I would really like to hear what your thoughts are on how it should be done.
