Could you please help me find this tool?

Post by Franeke »

Hi all,

I am a completely newbie to Cacti, and in certain ways even to Linux :-(

Currently I'm working on my final project for my Engineering and as part of it I need to real-time monitor bandwidth usage per host, to be exact, I have 4 hosts and need to plot each one's bandwidth consumption with good resolution (polling every second would be nice, not more than 5 secs polling) during 1hour - 30 min. I have read that patching Cacti I could get a 1 minute pollling, but that's pretty far from my needs. So, could you guys help me to find the right tool that I need? I don't need it to be SNMP-based, even I can generate each graph individually at echa host and merge all later. I feel a bit lost and there's not much time for me... :-S

Thank you very much in advance, I hope that any of you can help me!

Thanks a lot Jason!!!

While looking for STG I also found Simple Router Grapher (SRG, available in Sourceforge) based on that application and easy to use. In case anybody is in my situation, other interesting application to check is TRG (again available in Sourceforge) this one is for Linux and allows you to poll several devices with every-second intervals.

Once again thank you!
