Running cacti under ubuntu

Post by kikoga »

I have installed cacti and all requirements using synaptic. I have done some post configuration as linking /usr/share/cacti in /var/www/cacti, created manually a database for cacti (isn't this supposed to be done by synaptic?) and edited %CACTI/include/config.php to start cacti with its database. I edited this file by adding the username and password apt-get asked me to when configuring the cacti package.

Now, even if it seems too simple, I *cant login* to the cacti web enviroment :( I am asked a username and pass but none of the users I have chosen is useful. cacti/cacti doesnt work.

What am I supposed to introduce there? Could be due to this step?
mysql cacti < cacti.sql

What should I do now to get it working properly?

I am very interested on running cacti to graph my connection, so any help will be welcome.

Thanks in advance.

The first time you connect to cacti you must
write in fields:
user: admin
password:admin
And not the values that you have write in config.php
