Done installing Cacti, Can't connect to MySQL database

Post by born2net »

Hi everyone,

I have Cacti fully installed but when I go to the web site to try to set up Cacti, I get this error:

"Cannot connect to MySQL server on 'localhost'. Please make sure you have specified a valid MySQL database name in 'include/config.php'.

I made sure MySQL is running and I also checked that databases and it's in there with the correct name. Also config.php settings are correct. Any ideas of what might be causing this? THANKS!!!

Have you tried connecting to the database with the username and password that are stored in config.php?

Is the database on the same box as Cacti?
