NetVicious,
The other post is a workaround. I am reviewing the rrdtool code with it's developer for to get us back in business. Please verify the version of RRDtool that you are using.

If yours is the problem I think it is, then the previous post should resolve it. Please let me know. There is some graph syntax that RRDtool is not liking and it is closing the pipe.

I have been experiencing this problem also. All of my graphs that use a script as the data source have gaps in them seemingly randomly. Some of my snmp graphs also have gaps in them.
I can trace the poller and it runs the script but it doesn't always convert the information into a cacti2rrd command.
If you need any more information, just let me know.
*edit*
cacti version: 0.8.6d
rrdtool version: 1.0.049-2.2

josh_borke,
I think we have to be more specific here. First of all, there is a known bug with PHP Script Server scripts that is corrected with a patch to 0.8.6f. Also, the patch to 0.8.6f is imperative. Especially if your server is internet facing.
Now with that said, can you describe your scripts in a little more detail.
Thanks,
TheWitness

Ok, so I need to upgrade to 0.8.6f (done) AND apply patches? Just want to get my facts straight.
As far as the scripts go, they are very simple and cat 2 files. A snippet from the log file is:
This entry updated.
get_temp.pl just connects to a temptrax monitor and outputs 3 fields, another script cats a file that contains 3 different fields.
The scripts will work most of the time, but there are gaps that happen in the 5 minute intervals.
Thanks for the help! I'll let you know if upgrading to 0.8.6f corrected the gaps.
