No graphs in CACTI

Post by rodolfo44 »

I just installed CACTI in Scientific Linux, no problems with the installation but, even though I can create devices, and get data with snmp, CACTI does not show any graphic.

with debug on I see the message:

sh /usr/local/rrdtool-1.2.10/rrdtool permission denied

Any help? Thanks

The RRDTool path in the Settings->Paths section is incorrect.

It should probably be /usr/local/rrdtool-1.2.10/bin/rrdtool.

But you need the find out where the accually rrdtool binary is located and use that path.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the answer, but my rrdtool is under
/usr/local/rrdtool-1.2.10/bin
with permission for everybody
and this is what I have on CACTI settigs. (well actually what I have in settings is
/usr/local/rrdtool-1.2.10/bin/rrdtool which is the binary)

I have cheched permission on rra & log, and there is also permisions for everbody there

Hi Tony,

Well investigating, it was necessary to disable SELinux. So now I've graphs, but they only show one point, the one when I manually run the poller.

I've added the crontab line, the cron is done, but no updates on rra files. Any help on this? Thanks,

Rodolfo

Hi rodolfo44

We you ran the manual poll, did you do that as ROOT? if so chech file permitions on your rra's. they might have changed ownershio to ROOT. They should be owned by the cacti user. The one you entered in your crontab.

chers..

Hi Daga,

Nop, the files in raa & log are owned by usercacti (the one used by crontab call)

Any other hint? Thanks

Same problem 4 me 'cari ragazzi' !!!

the only d1ff3r3rnc3 is that I run rrdtool 1.0.49.

I also created a ksh script and I can see that the rra history log is updated but neither the new one nor the 4 pre-configured graphs are going to be displayed.

let me know any other suggestion...

thank you
