Wondering how to change the variable length limitiation...

Post by netracer »

Hello all!

I have been very pleased with Cacti, I think that it is much better than other monitoring tools that I have seen and/or used in the past. I have one question t this point in time which I am hoping to get assistance with, however.

Under the router graphing templates (interface- traffic - bits in/out) I have it configured to use the variable |query_ifalias| in the title of every graph. However, the variable is limited to 16 characters in size, and a lot of my aliases are larger than that. Where can I alter the code so that it will display 32 characters? I tried to figure out how to do this, but was unsuccessful.

Thanks in advance! 8)

Ah, ok....that was stupid, I found it now and regenerated the templates. Thank you very much for your help Rony!

Also, if anyone happens to know how to insert a break so that a title takes up 2 lines, please let me know (assuming it is possible, I have not seen options anywhere for it and the "title" field does not accept the standard programming escape chars).

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?

OK, I will have to do it this weekend since I can't access my pop3 email from work to retrieve the mantis password, hehe. Thanks for the help.
