wierd cisco eth traffic reporting
I am trying to use cacti to report traffic on my cisco router eth interfaces
and no matter what I do I get a strange output. Everything looks like it's working fine but instead of reporting the 2.5 or 3 Mbits that I know is actually going through the interfaces it reports 400-500Kbit
I can't find an option like that
I don't see an option line "convert bits to bytes" in any of the menus
Try this...
1) Log into Cacti as admin
2) Go to the "Console" tab
3) Under "Graph Setup", select "Graphs"
4) Select "Edit Graph Items" from one of your "Current Active rrdtool Graphs" that you want to convert the data from bytes to bits
5) Select a "Graph Item"
6) Scroll down until you see "CDEF Function"
7) Select "Turn Bytes into Bits" from the pull down menu
8.) Click the save button at the bottom of the screen
9) Go and check your graphs to see if it worked
You might want to repeat steps 5 through 8 for all of you graph items.

There is a script that makes the task more easy to do:
