goodbye php binary ?

Post by Supernico »

That's the feature I want, being able to use cactid in crontab (or as daemon with a -d).

Our systems at work doesn't have php binary installed (yeah, that's weird) so we do a wget of poller.php (after commenting out the first lines).

Do you think you can do it ? Make cactid a standalone daemon ?

thanks for your work !

It orginally was that way, it was redesigned this way.

PHP is an integral part of Cacti, not an option. In Cactid 0.8.6e, the script server is not launched unless the poller needs it.

Therefore, theoretically, you should not require PHP, but implementation in such a manner is not quite supported by the development team at this point. You would have to wait until 0.9 at least.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
