What version am I running?

With the recent announcement of some serious security issues regarding cacti <0.8.6e, I wanted to check what version I was running.

There's a version table in the cacti database, but it seems to have the first version installed as the value, not any subsequent installs/updates.

For instance, I have 0.8.6c on one machine 0.8.6d on another and 0.8.6b on yet another, but all three have been updated (via gentoo portage) to 0.8.6e. Hopefully this isn't a gentoo-specific question, but how do I know for sure what version I'm running?

its depends on the patches and addons you installed
but the easy way to do this is to look in include/config.php
look for the line $config["cacti_version"] = "0.8.6xxx";

Click on Console, then "you are now logged into Cacti" (<- click here) and after About Cacti you'll see Version 0.8.6x

Thanks, I figured there was something like that...I kept running a text search for 'about' on that page, but you have to click the big green cacti in the lower left...There should certainly be some text like 'about cacti' on this page.

People shouldn't have to scrub the page with their mouse or look at the source to find this.

The version in the database should match the version in the configuration. If they do not, then that is an issue, because the installer should have ran to alter the database, if needed, between versions.

We need both the "about" and the infamous "help" buttons. I guess in Cacti being helpless, we need to learn to help ourselves. I my case, I must give a thanks to the forums
