Cacti on linux ES 2.1?

Anyone running Cacti on Linux ES 2.1? The install instructions for Linux I got online specify Fedora 2. Should I use the same versions on php, mysql, etc, or ones specific to ES 2.1?

You should be able to run Cacti on just about any linux.

I have run Cacti on redhat, yellowdox, sentinix, debian, fedora and centos without any problems. I prefer to install/upgrade it by hand vs rpm. It is easy and allows for more granular control over the whole proccess of installing/upgrading

Another problem I am having is that we have other apps using php, apache, and mysql. All these have already been installed. The manual steps to install the packages prompt for different configuration that what I already have. Will it work with my current configuration if it's already installed or do I need to make changes?

Dunno, It depends on what changes you are talking about. You can have different tweaks under Apache via virtual hosts, aliases, includes, etc ... Php tends
to be more global by default, but there are ways to support different requirements/evironments within php - or so I am told..... Not a php expert!
as far as MySQL goes, Cacti should run in its own database w/ its own database user... There really should not be anything different about the MySQL daemon from one app to another. I typically run 3 - 4 different apps on the same server with out any problems..

backup any configs/dbs before you tweak anything!
