Error getting Windows 2000/XP host CPU and Partition Data

Post by ChupaMe »

OS: Debian sarge
Cacti Version: 0.8.6c

When i run
/usr/share/cacti/site/poller.php or cmd.php
I get this errors:

Error in packet

Failed object: IF-MIB::ifOutOctets.16777222

Anything else works: Windows hosts(logged in users, procs, traffic) Unix hosts, Linux hosts, Cisco devices etc.

I tried it with Windows 2000 and XP hosts. Firewall turned off. SNMP Version 1 and 2. Always the same result

One thing i have to say: The first time i choose the Windows 2000/XP Host template

Host MIB - Available Disk Space and
Host MIB - CPU Utilization

didn't appear under Associated Graph Templates. I had to add the them first. Maybe that has something to do with the problem?

SNMP - Get Processor Information resturns Success [0 Items, 0 Rows]

I would follow the upgrade procedure and migrate your hostMib stuff to the script server first. Check the cacti manual for instructions. Once you get there, we can talk some more.

This means i have to switch to Debian testing again(because i installed the *.deb-packages. Is there no other way? The query_host_* scripts from 0.8.6e and 0.8.6c are same...

What do you mean with "migrate your hostMib stuff to the script server first"? Update SNMP-Packages?

Thanks

http://www.cacti.net/downloads/docs/htm ... eries.html

This is available in 0.8.6c. Please keep in mind that there is a sql injection bug in the wild. Please make sure you apply the security patch for 0.8.6c available from Debian.

I found the bug!!! 8)

My community ist "host$snmp". All of my devices have that community. But with windows that doesnt work!! I changed it to "hostsnmp":

success [1 Item, 1 Row]
Success [48 Items, 16 Rows]

f*cking windows... :x Or is this a bug in cacti?

Becasue the "$" character is a special character in PHP, we currently don't support it in Cacti.

The reason that the disk stuff is not working would be another topic. Try copying the <cacti>/resource directory from source as well as the <cacti>/scripts directory from the 0.8.6e source and overwriting the files.
