Trying to move my Cacti installation from a Solaris system to a FreeBSD box, and I've hit a stumbling block: the cacti user can't create raw sockets on FreeBSD so ping.php can't do ICMP pings.
Has anybody hacked ping.php to use the host OSes suid ping executable instead?
Thanks.
Can't use ICMP ping on FreeBSD(5.4)

The 0.8.6e version of Cactid implements the seteuid() function and will create raw sockets. CMD.PHP is what it is.
