The lost totals!

Post by Daverion »

Hi all!

Following scenario:
I installed cacti for testing. it worked, i see what i wanted to see. (mainly bandwidth statistics)
After testing (and knowing, how cacti works), i reinstalled the database, to kill all the testing entries.
Its running for some days now, and it runs perfectly well - BUT:

In the first installation, i had totals at the footer of the bandwith stats (where min: max: average: is located!)
In the "new" productiv environment, i DONT have any totals - but min max average etc is still there.

i dont wanna kill the database again, since i will loose my current settings (and data!). So, i hope, someone can give me a clue, where to search!
i didnt change any templates, i just added a device via snmp and "activated" it in the graph tree - thats all.

thanks for your help

i didnt change the templates - not 1st time and not 2nd time - so, yes, i am pretty sure!
only used the "default" templates!

do you have totals on your statistics with cacti ? i mean, are they by default on or off ? any idea, how to switch them on ?

No no no..... ;)

I mean you selected the wrong "Graph Type" when you are creating the graphs for traffic.

But I assume you are doing this, can you post a image of the offending graphs?

Hi,

Image

here is a pic of a graph - at the location of the red circle, the totals should be / were there!

i installed the graphs the following way:
adding new device - with net snmp support - snmp version 2
then i go on create graphs and select the devices
then i switch to the graph tree and add a complete host (thanks to cacti, its sooo easy!)

hope, those explanations help, and you can help me in return!

thanks!
