can't monitor host through SNMP cause status is Unknown
Hey all!
I have installed Cacti 0.8.6d on a Fedora core 3 host, but when I try to monitor remote hosts throught SNMP their status becomes Unknown
{
An example is
LocalSNMP Unknown 192.168.0.112 0 0 100%
The information for the remote host is the following
LocalSNMP (192.168.0.112)
SNMP Information
System: Linux s112.xanadu 2.6.9-1.667 #1 Tue Nov 2 14:41:25 EST 2004 i686
Uptime: 321907
Hostname: s112.xanadu
SNMP Options public /version 1 / 161 / 500
Associated Data Queries
1) SNMP - Get Processor Information (Verbose Query) Uptime Goes Backwards Success [0 Items, 0 Rows]
2) SNMP - Interface Statistics (Verbose Query) Uptime Goes Backwards Success [0 Items, 0 Rows]
}
even though snmpd is running on the remote host and if I use snmpwalk I get
[root@s110 ~]# snmpwalk -v 1 -c public 192.168.0.112

Double check you paths, that is not a normal log, especially the path to PHP.
Something is up with you snmpd, restart it. A walk of the tree should yeild more than that. Otherwise, please review you snmpd.conf.

Unknown errors are caused when you use cmd.php and either don't have graph/data source items created in the poller cache, or you have a messed up graph/data source/data input method collection that is causing cacti not to place items in the poller cache correctly.
