Problems getting SNMP OID info

Post by ranc0r »

Hi,

I've been using cacti for a few months and really like it. Today I wanted to start monitoring some of singnal settings of my WWAN radios. I combed through the company's mib and found the relevant OIDs.

My cacti machine is a Debian 3.0/testing system.

The relevant OID is: .1.3.6.1.4.1.2890.1.1.31.1.1.9.256

From the command line (I believe this is how cacti runs it):

jmatney@ftp:/home/ptphoto$ snmpget -v 2c -c public 10.102.0.2 .1.3.6.1.4.1.2890.1.1.31.1.1.9.256
enterprises.2890.1.1.31.1.1.9.256 = "-37"

However, when cacti attempts to get that OID through the Get SNMP Data data input type, i just get NaN. I've confirmed this by dumping the rrd file.

I've sett the minimum value to -100 and the max to 100 just to make sure thats not the problem.

Anyone have any suggestions, I'm stumped!

TIA

It seems as if you are using net-snmp 5.x by the syntax you are using at the command line. Unless cacti is pointing to ucd-snmp 4.2.x binaries somewhere, you will need to apply this patch to 0.6.8a:
