Permission issue....I think.

Post by AK-Whitehawk »

I have been working on setting up cacti on a computer running Windows XP Home edition. At this point I have everything running except no .rrd files are being created. In the Windows installation manual it mentions to make sure the user has read/write access to the rra and log folders but in XP Home you can't assign separate permissions.

I created a new user on my system with admin access and used that user when setting up the polling hoping that would work. ( I didn't use my login because it would not accept the password for some strange reason) The cacti log file was created and is logging but no .rrd files in sight, which does not make sense if the problem was permissions related but who knows.

Any ideas out there?

thanks
