Hi,
If I have a working data source (associated to a working rrd file) how can I create a graph from it ? When I create a new graph it always create a new data source.
Example, I have a smokeping data source associated to an
RRD file called sel_mpls_loss_122.rrd.
When I create a new graph (from New Graphs) it always create a new
sel_mpls_loss_123.rrd.
Thanks for help

found out workaround (but it sucks)
Well, I have found no other way than
1) creating a new graph (thus creating a new archive)
2) delete the new archive file and rename the other one with the new name
I still would like to see a field "Data Source" in the Create Graph where we could drop down either "New Data Source" or any of the existing data sources for that host.
Am I the only one finding this useful ? :-/
Cheers

Creating graph from existing file
You can either do it by the script i posted few days ago ( cacti cmd maker )
or the steps are:
1. create device
2. create data source ( select template + host ) then create. after that change field data source path to point to your rrd file /mydir/myfile.rrd
save
3. goto graph management and create new graph select graph template + host. save and then change Graph Item Fields to point to your appropriate data source.
thats it your graph is in place
