Missing something

Post by dc2447 »

I have installed Cacti on a Fedora host, it works great when monitoring another linux host however when trying to graph my snmp enabled Draytek 2600G router the poller doesn't seem to poll the host and the rrd database files don't get created.

Here is the output of the debug, afaiks it doesn't try and poll my Draykek Router at all

I can see the cacti has polled the router succesfully duting setup as it reports the 4 interfaces and under 'ssociated Data Queries' it says status 'Success [12 Items, 4 Rows]'

I know the router supports snmp as I am already graphing it with MRTG.

Thanks in advance

Just an update - after some digging I can see that cacti has a cache of the host on the snmp cache??

So everythying is working other than rrdtool isn't geting updated?

In Devices, does cacti consider the Draytek 2600G router down? Try changing the downtime detection to only SNMP.

Do you have a data source associated with the Draytek 2600G router ?

Status is unknown

How?

Just traffic?

Did someone manage to monitor his/her draytek router ??

It is driving me nuts. All is working and graphing but the only thing that doesnt work is my router.. Which i would really like to get working.

Yep, and mine is running fine
Please try an snmpwalk against your device from command line to see, if community string and the like are ok.
Status for each new device is unknown, as long as no graphs are requested. Depending on the settings of Downed Host Detection, this will change. Latest cacti will see the host as "up", when at least Downed Host Detection or SNMP is ok.

Hi LVM,

Prepare for a long post :-)

Here is the output of my snmpwalk from the command line.
To me it seems that because of the fact i get output the community string etc is correct. (btw draytek works with snmp v1 and v2c)

Then when adding an interface (i did check all for testing)

After waiting some time only one image shows up, the rest is not working.
Odd thing is that i run mrtg on the same machine as cacti does. And there i do get a nice looking graph

Mrtg output:

The cacti logs says this:

Where the error show responds with the router.

Your thoughts are much appreciated !

Please give us your cacti version and the settings of "Downed Host Detection". Then, I'll need the current device status from the Devices List

Could it perhaps be cacti related ?

Please perform following steps
1. delete cacti.log
2. switch Settings->Logging Level to DEBUG
3. wait for one polling cycle
4. Switch logging level back
5. find those failing log entries (please: from file, not online via browser) and post them accompanied by preceding and following lines to see, what OIDs are failing
6. perform an snmpwalk against those failing OIDs from command line and post the result as well
