Maximum number of polled devices

Post by Pin007 »

Hi all,

I'm using Cacti for polling around 30 devices (perhaps 90 graphs 8)). Now I want to migrate some measurement from MRTG.

Has anybody have some experience with polling around 150 and more devices (4 graphs for each device)? :-?

At the end, Cacti is great tool, thank you very much. :D

There are some larger installations with over 1500 hosts. We have one customer with over 33,000 data sources. There is another with over 2200 hosts.

In order to run that large on a single server you need a pretty good mid range box, say with a dual 3+GHz P4 with HT and be running Cactid.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
