Warning: Cannot execute using backquotes in safe mode in /var/www/html/cacti/cron.php on line 47

This is the error I always get, when trying to collect data.

Any ideas ?

Do you have PHP's safe mode turned on for any particular reason? If not, set the following in your php.ini file:

safe_mode = Off

See if that fixes things.
