Anti Aliasing of GD/RRDTool

Following up on this topic, I have a feature request

It would be nice to be able to disable GD's Anti Aliasing feature. (Or RRDTools for that matter)

Hi

I've submitted a small patch which allows to :
- enable/disable slope mode
- choose the strength of the font smoothing (it can be completely disabled).

Should we put this into 0.8.6e? Why? What does it doe for us?

I think it would be great to add these settings, especially for the slope mode; in the rrdgraph man page, you can see :

[-E|--slope-mode]

           RRDtool graphs are composed of stair case curves by default. This is in line with the way RRDtool
           calculates its data. Some people favor a more 'organic' look for their graphs even though it is not
           all that true.

[-R|--font-render-mode {normal,light,mono}]

           This lets you customize the strength of the font smoothing, or disable it entirely using mono. By
           default, normal font smoothing is used.

Slope mode is the default in 0.8.6e. However, the I don't see the "performance" advantages of the font settings. What have you found?

Well, no performance inprovement with no AA fonts

But I have found some people who don't really like slope mode.
