1. forgot xampp
2. use apt-get, cacti is included in debian

apt-get update
apt-get -u install cacti cactid

apt-get install all needed packages (apache, php, mysql, snmp, perl,...).

There seems to be some issues with the latest cacti package on Debian. Please try to install it from source and see if that works.

Is rrdtool installed and if so, is your path in cacti to rrdtool set correctly?

The problem with apt-get and Cacti included is that <path_cacti>/lib/poller.php has overwritten <path_cacti>/poller.php. To correct, download the source from www.cacti.net and overwrite the existing <path_cacti>/poller.php with the one from source.

Would you mind working via AIM or MSNM for me to understand why you are getting the gaps in graphs?
