Total Bandwidth is zero; i.e., it will not calculate...

Post by John Rather »

OK, please tell me if I am missing something obvious. I have created several graphs for our Cisco routers. An example is attached. I am using the 'Interface - Traffic (bits/sec, Total Bandwidth)' graph template. The 'TOTAL IN/TOTAL OUT' is always '0'. What do I need to do to get it to calculate? I have looked at the graph template (didn't do anything to it) and it looks fine. Let me know if you need any more info. Everything else appears to be working great. Please help...

Thanks!

Hi John,

could you please give us a hint of what you put inside the graph template?

Thanks,

I am using the standard graph template that comes with Cacti - Interface - Traffic (bits/sec, Total Bandwidth) - does this help:

At the first glance this seems to be correct. Sorry if I'm not much of help, I'm stuck with a summation problem on Cisco NBAR statistics, where calculations go completely wrong (see a post a few hours older than yours).

I did not experience anything like this on a default interface however.

The last hints I could give you:
- check your cacti version, there have been different errors with older releases
- check if this could be a 64-bit-counter problem
- don't create your entries by hand and use the build-in wizards instead (I know this one sounds quite stupid, but as you see I'm still not so deep inside this stuff)

This still isn't working; any suggestions? I really need to get this working - please let me know if anyone needs more information to help me solve this...

Thanks!
