Nothing in RRA folder; No Graphs

Post by Ronin »

Hello,
symptoms.
No graphs, no files created in RRA folder.

I've been racking my brain and searching this forum for the last two days and the best that I've found is if you provide enough detail for "The Witness" he will provide the answer.

Windows 2003 Server
apache 2.0.54
cacti 0.8.6d
cactid 0.8.6d
mysql 4.1.12
net-snmp-5.2.1-1
php-5.0.4
rrdtool-cygwin-1.2.6

Paths
c:\net-snmp\bin\snmpget.exe
c:\net-snmp\bin\snmpget.exe
c:\rrdtool\rrdtool.exe
c:\windows\fonts
c:\php\php-win.exe
c:\apache\Apache2\htdocs\cacti\log\cacti.log
c:\cactid

Poller cmd.php

Scheduled task
Run:
c:\php\php-win.exe c:\apache\Apache2\htdocs\cacti\poller.php

Start in:
c:\apache\Apache2\htdocs\cacti

The Administrator of the machine was given rights to perform the scheduled task and has permissions to the rra and log folders.

First of all, two of the paths are not correct. Although the second one causes no issues since you are running cmd.php

Paths
c:\windows\fonts -> Needs to include the full ttf filename
c:\cactid -> Needs to include the full path the cactid.exe

Then, turn logging (Settings->General) to DEBUG and run the following from the command line logged in as the poller user id.

"c:\php <path_cacti>\poller.php"

Look for error messages and correct. Also, if you are using the release of RRDTool 1.2.6 (Native Windows Binary) from the rrdtool web site, you need to switch to the version on the Cacti web site. The one on Tobi's web site does not work: http://www.cacti.net/downloads

I fixed the paths.

RRDTool 1.2.6 is from Cacti site.

When I run the "c:\php <path_cacti>\poller.php"
I get a windows pop up message that says:
rrdtool.exe-Unable to Locate componet.

This application has failed to start because cygz.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

Here is the output of the command:
C:\php>php.exe c:\apache\apache2\htdocs\cacti\poller.php

Hi,

I believe i've got the same problem

installed the file now i got this:

got any id???

C:\Inetpub\intranet\ICT\cacti>c:\php\php.exe poller.php

c:\rrdtool\rrdtool.exe (2900): *** system shared memory version mismatch detecte
d - 0x75BE0074/0xFFFF0080.
This problem is probably due to using incompatible versions of the cygwin DLL.
Search for cygwin1.dll using the Windows Start->Find/Search facility
and delete all but the most recent version. The most recent version *should*
reside in x:\cygwin\bin, where 'x' is the drive on which you have
installed the cygwin distribution. Rebooting is also suggested if you
are unable to find another cygwin DLL.

Thanks The Witness!
I extracted the file to the RRDTool folder and now my RRA folder is populating, I get no windows popup message when I manually run poller.php and my graphs are now working.

mmartens: your problem is compleatly different. You really should start you own thread instead of highjacking this one.

Follow the instructions the rrdtool error output told you. Also, make sure you have set up the mibsdir eviroment variable. Re-read the windows install guide.
