The 2.5 day rrd?

Post by Soybomb »

I setup my own script and configured cacti to graph the data from it. Works great, cacti displays the values in the daily weekly monthly and yearly views. Except the daily graph is full of data, the weekly graph holds the last 2.5 days of data, and the rest of the graphs display the proper increasingly small sliver of a graph for 2.5 days worth of data. Its been running for weeks now. Any ideas what might be happening? Perhaps someplace I screwed up when configuring the data source?

Um... Post pictures of the graphs.

But honestly, the graphs with larger time ranges are going to consolidate your data and it will look like less.

No I mean like theres never any more data than 2.5 days worth of data on the weekly, the corresponding, on the monthly, etc. The data seems to roll off and get dropped.

Your RRA Definitions are hosed. You need to performa a standalone instalation of Cacti (like a development environment) and then compare the RRA definitions from your RRD files to the default values. I think you will have then found your problem.

Alright humor, the rrdtool noob. All my graphs for everything else are fine btw. When you say rra definitions are you talking like data sources> rras , then the daily weekly monthly yearly default rras? If so I do notice that I have average, max, and last selected on the daily, average and max only on the other three. Would that be like what you're talking about or am I looking in completely the wrong place?

Thanks!
