Disable 'm' for some graphs

Hi guys,

I just made a nice template and script for graphing exim stats, but there is one annoyance.

It doesn't really make much sence to say "998.53 milli messages / second". I want "998.53 m" displayed as "0.99".

I read the previous threads at http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=7571 and http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=6278 but they didn't really answer what I need.

Is there any way to make cacti/rrdtool to not use the other measurements?

Have you tried setting the Graph Items GPRINT Type to Exact Numbers?

Yes, but it rounds every number to the nearest whole number; what I want is just plain decimals.

Still, you've given me a good hint; it seems you can customize the GPRINT strings. I'll go and read RRDTool hints to see what string I need to do what I need.

"%8.3lf" is what I need. Easy :)

How are you getting the statistics out of exim? are you regularly running eximstats on the mainlog file or are you collating the data by some other means?

We have been looking at graphing data for exim (indeed we are currently graphing the number of messages on the queue using a passthru script in the net-snmpd daemon, to a script that will proxy a request to exim -bpc when it retrieves a request for MTA-MIB::mtaStoredMessages) .... but given the volume of traffic our mail servers carry I cannot afford from an efficiency point of view to have eximstats running on a regular basis ....
