EXPERTS! 3Month History accurate up to 1min - RRA's
I thought I had a handle on this but apparently not. Here are my current settings:
X-Files Factor - 0.5
Steps - 1
Rows - 8035200
Timespan - 86400
Someone tell me if this correct? I'm trying to get 3Months history accurate up to 1 min.
Right now I can see a week just fine but when I change the view to anything larger than a week the graph does not appear. I mean its not like a RED x designating a missing image, nor do I get a graph that is blank without data. All I see is the name of the graph in TEXT and little magnifine glass. The same name as if it were on the PNG image. Please see the attached image for an example what I see.
Anybody Please Help.

Did you create the RRD with all the correct timespans?

Well I created these graphs with these settings:rony wrote:Did you create the RRD with all the correct timespans?

I understand that I can not changes these settings on existing graphs through Cacti but if I create new graphs these settings take effect. And these graphs that are having the problem were created after making the changes.
Does that answer your questions? Are these settings correct if I want to have 3 months of history with 5min accuracy?
Thank You

Your RRA Definition does not look accurate.

Be more specific. How many RRA's, and what interval for each.

I noticed I made a mistake about the last request. I would like to be able to store 3 months history up to 1 minute accuracy.TheWitness wrote:Be more specific. How many RRA's, and what interval for each.
TheWitness
"How many RRA's?"
---> I am confused by this question. Aren't the RRA's the files that get stored per graph. So I assume I want 1 RRA per graph I create.
"what interval for each?"
---> I want to have 1 minute accuracy up to 3 months.
I don't think I am answering your questions correctly. Please explain.
Thank you for your time.

It's like this:
You say you want 5 minute graphs for 3 months. Typically, that's only 1/4 of the answer. What about 30 minute averages, 2 hour averages and 1 day averages?

Oh, I see. Honestly, I could care less what data about that data. So the default is fine. I just want to be able to go in and select a date range from date selector, lets say last month and still see accuracy up to 1 minute intervals.TheWitness wrote:It's like this:

Just to be certain, you don't want to see data from 4 months ago?

Ok I get it. Sorry for being a block head. Yes I would like to see these graphs as well:TheWitness wrote:Just to be certain, you don't want to see data from 4 months ago?
TheWitness
Daily (5 Minute Average)
Weekly (30 Minute Average)
Monthly (2 Hour Average)
Yearly (1 Day Average)
But most importantly I want to have 3 months of historical data at 1 minute accuracy.

So your answer would be I want:
Daily (5 Minute Average) - For 3 Months
Weekly (30 Minute Average) - For X Weeks
Monthly (2 Hour Average) - For Y Months
Yearly (1 Day Average) - For Z Years
You provide X, Y, Z

I will correct that (make sure to notice the 1minute average on the Daily graph):TheWitness wrote:So your answer would be I want:

Thanks again.
