Simple guide to graphing UNIX machines

Post by mpiko »

Is there a stright forward way for a newbie to set up graphing of UNIX machines for Network, CPU, and Memory? I am brand new to this product but need results ASAP.

If anyone know of a dummies/set by step guide to setting these up, please let me know.

First, check out the NET-SNMP snmpd deamon, it will allow you to configure have the servers be snmp queriable.

Second, cacti already has templates that support the NET-SNMP deamon.. :)
