Cutoff peaks

Post by Floppe »

Hello,

I had to reboot the computer because of an interface driver problem and I lost all grahs in the daily 5min avg sections.

That I can live with if it´s not easy to fix, but it also generated one big peak. Is it possible to cutoff those peaks?

1) Run the killspike perl script
2) upgrade to Cacti 0.8.6d, which has spike prevention

I upgraded cacti, but still those spikes show up. Is it an option somewhere, or?

Please show graph? Are you using cmd.php or cactid?

Oh, did use killspike2 right after I posted and no backups. I use cmd as poller. Maybe you recommend cactid?

Bolth do the same thing. However, there are still ways to cause spikes, say for example a technician clears the counters on a switch between polls.
