I receive these two errors when selecting Auto-create thresholds:

Warning: main(D:\www\infrastructure\cacti\lib/thold-functions.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\www\infrastructure\cacti\thold.php on line 18

Warning: main() [function.include]: Failed opening 'D:\www\infrastructure\cacti\lib/thold-functions.php' for inclusion (include_path='.;C:\php5\pear') in D:\www\infrastructure\cacti\thold.php on line 18

Fatal error: Call to undefined function autocreate() in D:\www\infrastructure\cacti\thold.php on line 40

I'm running Cacti 0.8.6d on W2K with PHP version 5.

Any suggestions?

Can you view them manually under http://[cacti_url]/graph_thold.php ? It is possible that the files did not get installed properly
got that fixed - did not install it properly to begin with...

another issue i am having: i am not receiving any alerts mails, unless i run:
php /var/www/htdocs/cacti/thold/check-thold.php
for which i get:
Content-type: text/html
X-Powered-By: PHP/5.0.2

RRA: 915 : ping
Ref. values count: 38
Ref. value (min): 16
Ref. value (max): 116
Cur. value: 112
Low bl thresh: 13
High bl thresh: 139
Check against baseline: OK
------------------
RRA: 184 : 5min_cpu
Ref. values count: 287
Ref. value (min): 6
Ref. value (max): 26
Cur. value: 22
Low bl thresh: 5
High bl thresh: 31
Check against baseline: OK
------------------

and then i receive them all in a bunch...
in php.ini, other than the path to sendmail, i dont see anything relevant for linux.

any ideas?

thanks

can't send email in window with thold

Post by luckyksc »

I got everything to work correctly in window, except sending an email. I was wondering where is the file that trigger the email alert. I know you say that php uses the default email to send email, could this be outlook express. I am stuck and don't know where to go. Can anyone guide me to the right direction. Thanks.

How to use Syslog on Windows Server (part 2)

Post by JimmyC »

After investigating i've found that the messages end up in my Eventlog on Windows.
But i want to use the syslog, not the eventlog.
This seems to be the default behaviour of PHP.
from PHP manual:
On Windows NT, the syslog service is emulated using the Event Log
any workarounds ?

I wrote it, so first pass is no. However, what syslog utility are you using? If you had to execute it, how would you do it?

Syslog daemon on windows

Post by JimmyC »

TheWitness:
We use Kiwi Syslog daemon ( http://www.kiwisyslog.com/ )

I've found a workaround: used NTsyslog ( sends all eventlog messages to a syslog server ).
Works fine.

Good. So that is a tool that replicates what is sent to the various logs to a syslog facility?
