create Data Template / Data Source

Hello,
maybe someone can help me, unfortunately I have not found anything via the search.
Installation is on a RaspberryPi, Debian version 12.10, cacti version 1.2.30.

I have created a "Data Template", it expects 4 values as input and should return one value. The script behind it simply reads on a host (1.value), a file (2.value), searches for a string (3.value) and cuts out a field (4.value).
This works fine on the command line.
In the Data template I cannot save a parameter in the field for the file, I always get:
"Sorry, we could not process your last action.
Save Failed due to field input errors (Check red fields).", even if I only write one letter in the field.
The field does not get a red border either, but I can save with an empty field.

Same problem also when I try to use the template as data source, without input the script can't work, with input I can't save.

What else can I check to find the error?

I have created a “Data Input Method”. I want to use a script to get a value from a file with measured values.

I then want to use this method in the template. But I can't save the name of the file with the values in the template. When I have entered it and want to save it, it is removed from the field and an error message appears.
But without this input it cannot work.

ok, I tried to reproduce it and it works without issues. Is something in cacti log?

There is nothing in the log, I tested yesterday and then switched off the computer. Just switched it on, log entries in between:

Just set up Cacti again from scratch?

try insert shorter value or remove any characters (/,.,.). I don't know if there is any input check/regexp. Try to find which characters or strings are allowed.

That was also my idea, so I tried it with just the file name and then wanted to add the path in the script. But nothing can be entered there.

hmmm, still cannot reproduce. Try to create your Data source (template) and data input method from scratch
