Hi,
I’m encountering a problem with an SNMP v3 polled device and would appreciate any advice or suggestions. Here’s the situation:
The device originally had a duplicate engine ID with another device being polled, causing issues with polling and data collection.
The engine ID on the device has since been changed.
However, it seems that certain SNMP data has been cached somewhere on the Cacti polling server.
This is evident when analysing traffic in Wireshark:
EngineBoots as per source: msgAuthoritativeEngineBoots: 4
EngineBoots as per destination: msgAuthoritativeEngineBoots: 6
This mismatch suggests cached SNMP data is being used. I’m trying to understand:
Is there a way to clear the SNMP cache for a specific polled device within Cacti (e.g., Spine poller SNMP cache)?
Alternatively, is this caching managed natively by RHEL and net-snmp, and if so, how can it be cleared?
Any help, suggestions, or insights would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time!

Utilities -> System utilities -> Rebuild poller cache or edit device and Repopulate poller cache in top menu
